A 1984 graduate of Newburgh Free Academy, Felicia still holds the school's high jump record of 5’7”. Earning high school All-America honors in 1984, she went on to compete at Temple University where she was the women's high jump champion at Dogwood Relays, Dartmouth Relays, Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) and others several times each. She also is a three-time Penn Relays Collegiate Women's High Jump champion. Earning All-America honors six times as a collegiate athlete, her 6'2" personal best is the current Temple University and ECAC record. Shortly before she graduated in 1988, she finished second at the NCAA Division I Outdoor Championships and seventh at the

U.S. Olympic Trials.
